Hollywood actor M. Emmet Walsh, who has starred alongside Julia Roberts and Harrison Ford, has sadly passed away.
Knives Out and Blade Runner star M. Emmet Walsh has died aged 88.
The Hollywood actor, who has starred alongside Daniel Craig, Julia Roberts and Harrison Ford, sadly passed away after a cardiac arrest.
According to long-time manager, Sandy Joseph, he died at Kerbs Memorial Hospital in St. Albans, Vermont.
During his impressive career across six decades, the American star worked alongside some of the biggest movie A-listers and has over 200 credits in films and TV.
Walsh rose to fame after playing Ford's LA police boss in Ridley Scott's 1982 epic Blade Runner, but his first on-screen role was in Alice’s Restaurant in 1969.
The veteran actor played Dermot Mulroney's dad in My Best Friend's Wedding, a sheriff in sci-fi horror Critters and appeared in Little Big Man.
He had guest roles on Frasier, The Waltons, Home Improvement, The X-Files, NYPD Blue, Army Wives, Damages, McMillan & Wife and The Twilight Zone.
Walsh has worked alongside Barbra Streisand, Steve Marton, Dustin Hoffman and Whoopi Goldberg.
He was honoured with the Carney Life Achievement Award in 2018 and had the honour presented to him by Star Wars actor Ford.
Most recently, he played a ecurity guard in Rian Johnson's 2019 murder-mystery comedy Knives Out and had a scene with James Bond star Craig.
After working with him in A Little White Lies, Michael Shannon told Collider: "That was kind of a dream come true.
"I've been watching him for years, and much like when I got the opportunity to work with Christopher Plummer in Knives Out, it's just… You know, getting an opportunity to work with someone with decades of experience and someone so firmly etched into the cinema landscape, you know. I couldn't believe I was sitting on a park bench improvising with M. Emmet Walsh.
"It's definitely one of those pinch-me moments. ‘Pinch me, I must be dreaming."
