The Santa Barbara Chamber Players invites music lovers of all ages to a classical repertoire, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara.

The program encompasses a carefully curated selection of masterpieces, conducted by Emmanuel Fratianni including the following:

Gabriel Fauré’s “Pelléas et Mélisande Suite, Op. 80” — Fauré’s score, originally composed for Maurice Maeterlinck’s play “Pelléas and Mélisande,” weaves a tapestry of emotions, from mysterious whispers to soaring climaxes, taking the audience on a mesmerizing journey.

Astor Piazzolla’s “Adiós Nonino,” orchestrated by Eduardo Marturet: The arrangement by Marturet received a 2006 Latin Grammy nomination. Piazzolla wrote the piece upon hearing about his father’s death; it is a celebration of life, love and loss, showcasing the orchestra’s versatility and flair.

Johannes Brahms Serenade No. 1, Op. 11: This piece stands as a testament to the composer’s mastery of orchestration. Brahms’ genius unfolds through a blend of lyricism and exuberance.

Tickets for the concert are $20 for general admission, with free admission for students ages in grades k-12.
