Cigarettes After Sex announces ‘X’s World Tour.’ Get tickets today

The world’s mellowest arena tour may be headed to a city near you this year.

From August through October, Cigarettes After Sex are taking their ‘X’s World Tour’ to huge venues all over North America in support of their new album, also named “X’s.”

“The record feels brutal,” singer Greg Gonzalez shared in a press release. “I could sit and talk about this loss to someone, but that wouldn’t scratch the surface. I have to really write about it, sing about it, have the music, and then I can start to analyze and learn from it.”

Midway through the 24-concert run, Greg Gonzalez and co. will headline at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Friday, Sept. 6.

Other notable stops include Philadelphia (Sept. 3), Boston (Sept. 4), Orlando (Sept. 13), Chicago (Sept. 23) and Los Angeles (Oct. 11).

As of now, tickets can be picked up for all dates on the late summer run.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, March 8, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Cigarettes After Sex new music

On July 12, Cigarettes After Sex will release their third studio album “X’s.”

While we wait for the record to hit shelves, fans can check out the lead single “Tejano Blue,” a tribute to the music of Gonzalez’s Texas childhood.

“I grew up in El Paso and Tejano music is huge there,” Gonzalez shared. “You could go to a lot of the bars in the city & hear artists like Selena, Los Ángeles Azules & La Mafia playing over the speakers. It was in the atmosphere around me back then, but I always rejected it and gravitated towards anything else I was attracted to really.

“Years later when I was living in New York City I finally started listening to Selena’s ‘Como La Flor’ at the same time that I was also listening to a lot of Cocteau Twins. I had the idea then to try to combine both of their sounds somehow, which felt a bit strange, but also felt like it was coming from a genuine place of rediscovering and finally connecting with the music that I heard around me in my youth.”
