CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Ten Miler takes place Saturday morning, kicking off and wrapping up at Scott Stadium.

This year’s race benefits the Jefferson Area Board for Aging, Meals on Wheels, Bennett’s Village, Girls on the Run, the Building Goodness Foundation, the Sexual Assault Resource Agency, and Madison House.

There is rain in the weather forecast, but the race is rain or shine, so runners and spectators are encouraged to dress for comfort and the weather.

Because of the race, there will be various temporary road closures around town, including Alderman Road from Ivy Road to Stadium Road.

Starting at 6 a.m. Saturday, Whitehead Road from Alderman Road to Stadium Road will close.

Other roads that will be impacted include Stadium Road, McCormick Road, Minor Road, Bollingwood Road, Cameron Lane, Lewis Mountain Road, Emmet Street, University Avenue, Rugby Road, Grady Avenue, 14th Street NW, Preston Avenue, Rugby Road, 10th Street NW, Rose Hill Drive, Harris Street, McIntire Road, Ridge McIntire Road, Seventh Street NE, East Market Street, East Jefferson Street, Park Street, Second Street NE, East High Street, Northwood Avenue, Evergreen Avenue, Lexington Avenue, Maple Street, East Water Street, West Main Street, Roosevelt Brown Boulevard, Jefferson Park Avenue, Eighth Street NE, Chancellor Street, University Avenue, Edgemont Road, and Tree House Drive.

Runners will also be on the Downtown Mall for part of the race.
