Media Accreditation Reminder (Not for publication)

The application window for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 media accreditation closes on Thursday. This is an online process that can be completed by clicking here and is only for written press, photographers, websites, non-rights holding (NRH) TV and radio broadcasters.

Those who have covered one of the following ICC Events will be given preference for accreditation:

  • ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup India 2023
  • ICC Women’s T20 World Cup South Africa 2023
  • ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup Australia 2022
  • ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup New Zealand 2022

Though the record of attending previous ICC events (the ones mentioned above or other ICC events) will be considered, please note that attending previous events does not guarantee you media accreditation. All applications will be assessed thoroughly keeping in mind the media organisations, the individual applicants and media spaces available at venues.

Members of the media have until 17h00 Dubai time (GMT +4) on Thursday, 28 March 2024, to register for accreditation. As part of the process, the media will need to upload the following documents:

  • A colour headshot photograph with a plain background like a passport photo (there is also an option of clicking a photograph using your webcam)
  • Letter of approval/assignment from your Editor/Commissioning Editor – jpg, jpeg, pdf, png file
  • Passport/National Identity Card/Driving License - jpg, jpeg, pdf, png file
  • If you have covered any of the above four ICC global tournaments, please provide a sample of work - jpg, jpeg, pdf, png, svg, doc, docx or weblink (this is not mandatory)

The ICC reserves the right to approve/reject/request further information on all applications in its sole discretion and without providing reasons for doing so.

Whilst selecting matches, the media is advised to bear in mind the following:

Your tournament pass doesn’t guarantee you a space in the media working area on a match day. Match-day accreditation lists will be prepared by the ICC as per its review process (please refer to the FAQs document to read more about the review process).

Match notifications for the tournament will begin in due course and will be published on the online portal. You will be able to log into your account here and see the matches for which you have been allocated a seat in the media box, or a photo position.

As at previous ICC events, NRH camerapersons will be accredited for the tournament, but only reporters will be accredited on match days. However, to facilitate the NRHs, who will be allowed to cover pre-match activities, all pre-match and post-match media conferences will be uploaded to the ICC’s Online Media Zone.

Once your accreditation is approved, you may please write to adrian.griffith@t20worldcup.com if you need a visa letter for the USA and to arodrigues@cricketwestindies.org if you need a visa letter for the West Indies. Please note that you will require an (I) Visa for the USA (more details available in the FAQs document) and that visa letters will only be issued to those whose accreditation is approved.

Media Hub: The ICC will also operate a Media Hub during the tournament at a central location of Barbados, which may be used by the media for long periods of time. More details will be announced in due course, but you could refer to the FAQs document to understand how it will work.

The media is strongly advised to carefully read the Media Accreditation Terms and Conditions and refer to the FAQs document to avoid any misunderstandings or inconvenience.

Media Accreditation Terms and Conditions and FAQs are available on the accreditation portal and in the Resources section of the ICC Online Media Zone.

For access to the Online Media Zone please send in a request to media@icc-cricket.com with your name, organiation, designation and e-mail ID.

Please note that Online Media Zone access is not required to apply for accreditation.

If you have any problems with the accreditation portal, please write to T20WC24accreditation@accredit-solutions.com.
