    Old home week

Don’t be surprised if violinist Tessa Lark, the artistic director for the Musical Masterworks chamber music series, breaks out snacks and vino for Saturday and Sunday’s concerts in the First Congregational Church in Old Lyme.

After all, it’s very much a homecoming-style weekend. Musical guests are dear friends: cellist Edward Arron and pianist Jeewon Park — and by “dear friends” we’re not just referring to Lark’s pals. Arron was the longtime and much-loved musical director at Musical Masterworks, and Park, his wife, is a popular and recurring guest of the series.

The program, curated to emphasize the strengths of the individual players as well as their sparkling personal and musical chemistry together, consists of Mendelssohn’s Cello Sonata No. 2 in D major, Op. 58; Babajanian’s Piano Trio in f-sharp minor; and Schubert’s Nocturne in E-flat and Piano Trio in B-flat.

Lark will deliver pre-concert talks an hour before performances each day.

Treat your ears and say hello to some familiar faces.

    Musical Masterworks, 5 p.m. Sat. and 3 p.m. Sun., First Congregational Church, 4 Lyme St., Old Lyme; $45, $5 for students; musicalmasterworks.org, (860) 434-2452.
