An inmate who escaped from a prison in Pennsylvania nearly four months ago was captured Friday, authorities with the U.S. Marshals Service announced.

Isaiah Tilghman, 33, was arrested in Philadelphia outside a Planet Fitness around 11 a.m.

Investigators said agents followed Tilghman to the fitness center and then took him into custody when he left the gym.

Tilghman escaped from the Blair County Prison in Hollidaysburg on Dec. 3 by using a "homemade rope," according to authorities. Tilghman then reportedly stole a car and was later believed to be in the Philadelphia area.

He was found more than 200 miles away from Blair County.

"Tilghman was being held in Blair County for drug related offenses and violation of his Pennsylvania State Parole. Tilghman has since been charged with escape, flight to avoid apprehension, and other charges in relation to the escape," said Robert Clark, who is the supervisory deputy U.S. Marshal for the Eastern Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force.

Officials said Tilghman is being held at an undisclosed facility while he awaits extradition to Blair County.
