The man and woman who were found dead in a Moxy Boston Hotel room were both shot, according to police who continue to investigate the double fatal incident.

Boston police officers were alerted to the dead bodies after a hotel worker found them in a room on the 13th floor early Monday afternoon.

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday identified the people who died as a 43-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman

“Both victims sustained bullet wounds,” the Suffolk DA’s Office said in a statement. “A firearm was recovered at the scene.”

Suffolk DA Kevin Hayden on Monday was asked whether there was an ongoing threat to public safety. The DA responded, “The general public and other guests should not be concerned at this time.”

The Moxy Boston Hotel is a Marriott hotel that’s located at the intersection of Tremont and Stuart streets, near Boston Common.

The Suffolk DA’s Office said on Tuesday, “The incident remains under investigation by Boston police and the Suffolk DA’s office.”
