Man killed after tree falls on Boulder Creek home identified
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office confirmed that a person was killed by a falling tree while in their home in Boulder Creek on Sunday. A spokesperson for the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said at around 3:20 p.m., fire crews arrived at a home on Highway 9 near the intersection of Bear Creek Road in Boulder Creek for a tree that fell and went into a home.One resident was able to escape the home, but the other was trapped inside. The person inside the home was killed after the tree fell and died at the scene, said the spokesperson.The man was identified as 45-year-old Robert Brainard III of Boulder Creek, per the Santa Cruz County Coroner's Office.
