Kansas City Chiefs 2024 NFL Draft Picks Full List and Draft History

How many draft picks do the Kansas City Chiefs have in the 2024 NFL Draft, and how did they accumulate their current number of draft selections? Here's what you need to know.

The Kansas City Chiefs are reigning back-to-back Super Bowl champions, but if they want to pull off the NFL's first-ever three-peat, they'll have to continue to add playmakers through the NFL Draft.

Kansas City Chiefs 2024 NFL Draft picks

  • Round 1, Pick 32
  • Round 2, Pick 64
  • Round 3, Pick 95
  • Round 4, Pick 131
  • Round 5, Pick 158 (from Dallas)
  • Round 5, Pick 173 (compensatory)
  • Round 7, Pick 252

The Chiefs gained their extra 2024 fifth-round pick during the 2023 draft when they traded the No. 178 overall pick to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for what will now be No. 158 overall a year later. The Cowboys used that 2023 sixth-round selection on cornerback Eric Scott Jr.

The Chiefs don't have their own 2024 fifth-round pick because they traded up to select DB Chamarri Conner at No. 119 overall in 2023. The Chiefs sent No. 134 overall and their 2024 fifth-rounder to the Minnesota Vikings for the chance to trade up for Conner.

Kansas City doesn't currently hold a sixth-round pick due to a trade within the AFC West in the summer of 2023. The Chiefs acquired defensive tackle Neil Farrell from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for their 2024 sixth-round pick. Ferrell didn't see the field often in 2024,

Arrowhead Report's Jordan Foote broke down how the Chiefs ended up with one 2024 fifth-round compensatory pick after a busy 2023 offseason:

Compensatory picks for 2024 are based on the prior offseason's free agent period. During that window, teams lost free agents and signed others to contracts and those values either awarded them net gains or cancellations in the compensatory formula. For the Chiefs, they missed out on a significant handful of opportunities to factor into those calculations in a positive way. Offensive tackles Orlando Brown Jr. and Andrew Wylie, wide receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman, defensive tackle Khalen Saunders and safety Juan Thornhill all signed compensatory-worthy contracts elsewhere.

After the number of compensatory-level free agents the team brought in was accounted for, Kansas City originally qualified for two added selections. Hardman being acquired during an in-season swap with the New York Jets, however, dropped that total. It'll be just a single pick for the Chiefs stemming from the three-year, $24 million deal Wylie signed with the Washington Commanders.
