Lake Charles man arrested on self reported animal cruelty
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) – A Lake Charles man was arrested after making a complaint about animal cruelty that he had committed.
According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home on E. Opelousas Street in Lake Charles on Sunday in reference to a compliant about cruelty to animals.

On arrival, the complainant, Estevan E. Pappion, 26 of Lake Charles claimed he arrived at his home and found his dogs had been shot & killed. He said he didn’t go inside, but he shut the door and called the police.
After further investigation, Pappion admitted to deputies he had shot the dog. He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal mischief.
He was later released on a $45,500 bond.
