Doctor Strange’s Benedict Wong is teasing the next film in the series.

The actor, who plays powerful sorcerer Wong in the MCU, is set to reprise his role in an as-yet unnamed project that may or may not be Doctor Strange 3.

"I can't really say. It's been a while," Wong tells ComicBook on the red carpet for his latest film, Netflix sci-fi series 3 Body Problem. "Something's looming. Something's looming."

There are rumors this project is a live-action film adaptation of Strange Academy, a hit comic series first released in 2020 situated in a school founded to train young people with magical abilities.

This might form the basis of Doctor Strange 3, or spin-off into a new series on Disney+.

The reason this storyline could happen is because the final moments of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness see a new generation of pupils practicing their skills at mystical training ground Kamar-Taj, following the deaths of countless former pupils in the attack by the evil Scarlet Witch.

Wong’s no stranger to a cameo, though. In 2021 we saw him in Shang Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The following year he reprised his role in several episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Hopefully Marvel gives the fan-favourite character even more screentime in his next big Marvel project.

Wong's not the only one laying the groundwork, Benedict Cumberbatch also teased his next Doctor Strange appearance.
