The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning shoppers not to purchase rolling candy toys after a child's choking death was reported.

CPSC officials say the following products should not be bought or consumed, as the rolling ball can dislodge and get trapped in the throat, which can lead to fatal choking:

  • Cocco’s Candy Rolling Candy
  • Slime Licker Sour Rolling Liquid Candy
  • Happiness USA Roller Ball Candy

These types of sweet treats contain flavored liquid candy and the rolling ball applicator is used to apply the liquid to the child's tongue. The bottles are resealable and come with twist-on plastic caps.

Three recall announcements have been issued for each of these products. According to officials, the Cocco Candy Rolling Candy was the cited as the cause of the choking death of a 7-year-girl, while the Happiness USA Roller Ball Candy is thought to have caused the choking and hospitalization of a 7-year-old boy.

All are sold in stores and online by major online retailers.
