Selective intervention into intracellular signaling pathways mediated via cyclic AMP and cyclic GMP has become a promising strategy to modulate tissue functions. To date, the use of selective PDE inhibitors is considered a reasonable approach for the treatment of various urological diseases in both male and female patients. This class of drugs is assumed to restore/promote normal organ function and exert only limited systemic adverse events.
