WELL, ANTOINETTE, FIRST OF ALL, I’M STANDING ON ROUTE 140 IN FOXBOROUGH, BETTER KNOWN AS MAIN STREET, BUT I’M GOING TO STEP OUT OF THE WAY AND SHOW YOU WHERE THIS CRASH HAPPENED. JUST IN FRONT OF THAT TELEPHONE POLE WITH THAT BLUE HOME WITH THE WHITE DOOR. NOW, PRELIMINARY REPORTS INDICATE THAT THE AMBULANCE INVOLVED IN THIS CRASH WAS TRAVELING NORTHBOUND, AND THE HONDA IN QUESTION WAS TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON THE SCENE SUGGESTS THAT ACCIDENT HAPPENED IN THE NORTHBOUND LANE. NOW, NEIGHBORS TOLD NEWSCENTER FIVE THE HEAD ON COLLISION BETWEEN A HONDA PILOT AND A BRUCE BREWSTER AMBULANCE SHOOK THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD LAST NIGHT. THE NORFOLK COUNTY DA’S OFFICE SAYS THE INJURED INCLUDE TWO EMTS, BOTH IN THEIR MID 20S, AND A PATIENT IN HIS 70S THAT WAS BEING TRANSPORTED AT THE TIME. NOW, THE HONDA WAS BEING DRIVEN BY A 40 YEAR OLD MOTHER WITH HER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AGED DAUGHTER. APPARENTLY IN THE BACK SEAT. THAT DAUGHTER WAS LATER AIRLIFTED TO A BOSTON HOSPITAL. NOW, THIS CRASH HAPPENED IN FRONT OF BRUCE SPENCER’S HOME, AND HE WALKED OUT AND SAW WHAT HAD HAPPENED. CAR AND THE AMBULANCE HAD COLLIDED. HEAD ON. THERE WAS NO NO SWERVING, NO NOTHING. THEY HIT HEAD ON. IT WAS BRUTAL, BRUTAL, BRUTAL, BRUTAL. WE GOT THE GIRL OUT OF THE BACK SEAT. THERE WAS A YOUNG LADY IN THE BACK SEAT. SHE WAS SEVERELY INJURED. NOW THAT LITTLE GIRL STILL REMAINS AT MASS GENERAL HOSPITAL. THE CRASH REMAINS UNDER UNDER INVESTIGATION AND NO CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED AT THIS POINT, AS RECONSTRUCTION TEAMS ARE STILL BEING PIECING TOGETHER WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY’RE STILL TRYING TO TALK TO THOSE INVOLVED IN THE CRASH, BUT ALL ARE STILL HOSPITALIZED. An SUV collided head-on with an ambulance on Main Street in Foxborough on Thursday night, video from the scene showed. Debris was seen scattered across Route 140, with first responders at the scene of the crash. The incident happened around 6:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Main Street near the intersection with Cross Street. Preliminary investigation suggests that the ambulance was traveling northbound on Route 140 and the Honda was traveling southbound, and the crash happened in the northbound lane, the Norfolk County District Attorney's office said. The crash happened in front of Bruce Spencer's home.“The car and the ambulance had collided head on. The was no swerving, no nothing. They hit head on. It was brutal, brutal, brutal. We got the girl out of the backseat … there was a young lady in the backseat. She was severely injured,” he said.A medical helicopter was called to the crash scene, police said. "As soon as I heard the horn, I heard the smash and I was I knew something happened," Cameron Kaitz, who lives in a home near the crash scene, said. Witnesses who rushed to help said everyone involved in the crash was taken away by ambulance, including the driver and a passenger in the SUV, the ambulance driver and possibly a patient who was inside at the time. "My dad went out as soon as it happened to try to help," Kaitz said. "He said there was somebody in the back if the ambulance."The Norfolk County District Attorney's Office said an investigator from the office's major collision responded to assist Foxborough police.The DA's office said the injured included two emergency medical technicians both in their mid-20s who were staffing the ambulance and a patient in his 70s being transported at the time. The SUV was being driven by a 40-year-old mother with her elementary school age daughter in the back seat, authorities said. The child was transported by helicopter to the Massachusetts General Hospital to undergo advanced treatment, the DA's office said. Brewster Ambulance said in a statement it was "in the process of gathering more details regarding the head-on collision with one of our ambulances," adding it was "collaborating with local authorities to obtain additional information."Authorities said the crash was under investigation by multiple agencies, and no charges were immediately filed.
