SUGAR GROVE, Ill. — Kane County residents and businesses are cleaning up Wednesday from the severe weather that rumbled through the area Tuesday night.

A small business in Sugar Grove, Ill. was hit hard by the storm. Spring Bluff Nursery, a garden center located at 41W130 Norris Road Ste 1, was severely damaged.

Eleven green houses on the property are a total loss, among other scattered debris across the area. Many plants were destroyed.

The business tells WGN News that several delicate plants in heat controlled green houses have been exposed to the cold conditions. Not to mention, some trees around the property seemed to be cut in half.

The owner of Spring Bluff Nursery said they had a lot of work to get his nursery business ready for spring, but all those plans are now on hold.

The owner is currently waiting on his insurance company to come out and assess the damage.

It has not yet been confirmed if a tornado actually touched down in Sugar Grove.
