Monday morning brought some technical difficulties on Live with Kelly and Mark.

As Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos sat down to kick off this morning’s episode, they were met with some pitchy mic feedback that became more audible once the applause from the studio audience died down. After they recognized the sound and heard their nearly modulated voices, the two co-hosts looked up to investigate, as Consuelos chimed in with a “Whoa!”

Ripa asked, “Do you hear that feedback? What is it? What’s happening, everyone?”

Once the feedback seemed to have subsided, Consuelos exclaimed, “That’s it. We got it. We got it! We’re back!”

However, his enthusiasm might’ve arrived just a little too soon, as the ringing returned.

“Nope,” he joked.

Ripa teased, “It’s gonna be a rocky show. Buckle up.”

The two proceeded to ask the audience if they had a “good St. Patrick’s Day,” and chatted about their weekend.

“Guys, we’ve been on a run for the past, gosh, five or six weeks,” Consuelos recalled. “And we relaxed and we just had a really nice, nice weekend, where we, gosh, we —”

Ripa interjected, “I think [Live EP Michael] Gelman just cut your mic to the whole feed.”

Consuelos clarified, “No, just that speaker.”

They continued rehashing their much needed rest and relaxation, which included a “Naked and Afraid marathon.”

“It’s like a chip, you can’t just have one,” Consuelos claimed. “You watch one, and I go, ‘This is ridiculous! Why are they naked?'”

Ripa noted, “We watched where fans get to challenge. Fans are like, ‘I’ve seen the show, I know how to be a survivalist.’ Spoiler alert: nope!”

Although the audio problems seemed to have been solved by this point, a bright light suddenly flashed down upon Ripa and Consuelos, prompting the latter to chuckle along with the audience.

Ripa quipped, “Everybody’s first day up there?” Consuelos added, “That’s not the speaker button.”

Ripa proposed, “Guys, you know what you should do? Mark this show for next year’s Emmys. That’s a great idea.”

Jokes aside, Consuelos offered up an explanation for the technical difficulties, blaming it on being “the last day of winter.”
