A lost phone and a video of a woman performing sexual acts on a dog led to her arrest on multiple child pornography charges, police records show.

The investigation that led to the arrest of Ashley Lynch began in late December when the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a possible animal cruelty incident. Lynch, 37, had left her phone at a bar and later called for its return. She gave the bartender the passcode to verify the device was hers, the probable cause affidavit stated.

After unlocking the phone, the bartender discovered a video of Lynch allegedly with the small dog, the affidavit continued. The investigation turned into one about child pornography after a search warrant for the phone was obtained and a detective reported discovering voyeuristic videos of two young children.

At that point, a detective who investigates child exploitation joined the case. In February, the sheriff’s office obtained records that confirmed the children were 6 and 8 years old, authorities said.

Three other pictures were discovered that contained what was described as sexual abuse material, the investigator stated. Another image on the phone was one of Lynch’s driver license. The affidavit cited that photo because she was allegedly wearing the light purple polish that seen on the person who recorded one of the videos.

Lynch was booked on six counts of possessing obscene material depicting child pornography, along with three counts of video voyeurism of a child less than 16 years old.
