NEWTON — The Corner Table exists to provide meals with compassion, respect, and dignity to those in the community affected by hunger. To provide multiple feeding programs to Catawba County residents, raising funding and awareness for the need is a crucial part of the ministry.
Each year, passionate and driven women and young women are nominated to participate in the Baker’s Dozen Women’s Society and the Jr. Baker’s Dozen Young Women’s Society. 2024 marks the first year that young men have the same opportunity through the Dudez Dozen Young Men’s Society.
Through these societies, the honorees raise substantial funding and awareness for the feeding programs at The Corner Table. At the close of each campaign, honorees are recognized for their efforts during a celebration event which recognizes their achievements, and awards are provided for Baker of the Year, Jr. Baker of the Year, Dude of the Year, and Commit to Serve awards for both Jr. and Dudez.
