HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A suspect charged with arson is behind bars after allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail through an apartment window.
According to an affidavit, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Covert Avenue. Upon arriving, the victim stated he and Eric Williams, 47, was hanging out at his apartment when they got into an argument. He claimed Williams made statements that he would return and shoot up the apartment.
The affidavit states at 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Williams had returned and allegedly threw the Molotov cocktail through the apartment window but did not make it through. It states it got hung up on a curtain, causing a small fire. The victim reportedly put the fire out with a fire extinguisher, and the fire didn’t cause any damage.
When officers caught up with Williams and detained him, he allegedly said he got a call from the victim stating someone was at his apartment, messing with him, so came to help him out.
Williams said he knew what a Molotov cocktail was but claims he did not throw one at the apartment.
