Kalen Edwards, a 4-star defensive lineman, de-commits from Auburn football

Auburn football lost four-star defensive lineman Kalen Edwards on Tuesday after the standout de-committed from the SEC program.

Edwards committed to Auburn this past November. He had visited campus as recently as January.

A 6-foot-4, 330-pound defensive lineman from Dyersburg (Dyersburg, Tennessee), he is the No. 297 player nationally in the 247Sports Composite and No. 277 in the ESPN 300. He has a strong offer list that includes Arkansas State, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Missouri, and Tennessee among others.

On Tuesday night, Edwards posted on social media, explaining why he was opening up his recruitment. It was a simple message that he posted on X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter):

Edwards most recently pulled in offers in January from Ole Miss and Florida.

Even with the de-commitment of Edwards, Auburn still has a very strong 2025 class. The group has seven verbals and features four recruits ranked as four stars.

Nationally, 247Sports ranks the Auburn class as the eighth-best in the class of 2025.
