Max has dropped the official teaser for its upcoming series, The Penguin, which serves as a follow-up to the events of Matt Reeves' 2022 film The Batman.

Colin Farrell is back as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, who is making a play to grab the reigns of the crime world in Gotham.

The eight-episode mini-series from Lauren LeFranc, directed by The Hunt's Craig Zobel, is due to hit Max this fall, and there are even rumors that Robert Pattinson was spotted on set.

The teaser may not confirm any Batman sightings, but it does show us getting into the nitty gritty of who The Penguin is.

Farrell's showing off his Academy Award-nominated acting chops, barely recognizable behind the mounds of prosthetics, as he tells a story from his childhood under tense images from the upcoming series.

It may not give much away, but it certainly does what it says on the tin: teases what to expect from this hotly anticipated follow-up to Reeves' three-time Oscar-nominated film.
