RALEIGH, N.C. — One lucky ticket purchased for Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing matched all five white balls to win a $1 million prize.

The lucky winner purchased the $2 ticket using Online Play in Fayetteville.

The $1 million prize was one of two won nationally in Tuesday’s drawing with the other win occurring in Massachusetts. The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 12.6 million.

Three other big wins occurred in North Carolina in Tuesday’s drawing. All three $2 tickets matched four of the five white balls and the yellow Mega Ball to win $10,000. The wins occurred:

– At the Han-Dee Hugo’s on Buffaloe Road in Raleigh
– In Asheville using Online Play
– At the Smoker Friendly on Pinewood Plaza Drive in Granite Falls

The winners have 180 days to claim their prizes.

Since no one won Tuesday’s jackpot, the new jackpot for Friday’s drawing will climb to $792 million as an annuity or $381.8 million cash. The $792 million jackpot ranks as the sixth largest in Mega Millions history.

Players can buy Mega Millions tickets at any lottery retail location, through Online Play on the lottery’s website or by using the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million.
