Trough Brings Stormy Weather to Pacific Northwest

A trough in the eastern Pacific Ocean is set to bring stormy weather to the US West Coast, the Cooperative Institute for Research of the Atmosphere (CIRA) said.

The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of a “strong Pacific storm” that will unleash “strong winds, heavy mountain snows, and rain at lower elevations” throughout the week.

Unsettled weather affecting the Pacific Northwest is advancing eastward and is anticipated to reach the central US by Wednesday night, the NWS said. Credit: CSU/CIRA & NOAA via Storyful
