Jamahal Hill calls UFC 300 fight vs. Alex Pereira a mismatch: ‘He gets his ass whooped every single way’

Jamahal Hill is confident he has the advantage over Alex Pereira everywhere.

Hill (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) challenges light heavyweight champion Pereira (9-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) in the UFC 300 main event April 13 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The former champion likes the hype surrounding knockout artist Pereira, and relishes the opportunity to shut him down.

“I feel like I’m just better,” Hill said in an interview with Bodog Canada. I’ve said it in multiple interviews and people just don’t believe me. I am truly just better than he is, period. That’s just the way it is. I’m better than him everywhere, and I don’t want to keep saying it. I just want to get out there and show it.

“It’s not going to go well for him. That’s why I’m loving all the talk, all the hype, the ‘Pereira is this,’ the mythical, all of that sh*t. I’m loving all of that sh*t. Build him up in your heads as big as y’all want to so whenever I lay him out, y’all know how much further you really need to start trying to put together where I am and what I am.”

Not only is Hill predicting a knockout, he thinks all Pereira has is a puncher’s chance.

“I’m knocking him the f*ck out,” Hill said. “And when I say this, this is no disrespect to Alex. However you take it is however you take it. But for me, there’s no disrespect. I like Alex. I like Alex whenever he fights. I think he’s funny. I think he brings attention and good energy and good charisma and good things to the sport and to the company and to all of us as a whole that are in this lane. … I realized the mismatch it truly is. It’s truly, truly a mismatch.

“Can he catch me and knock me out? He’s been fighting for a long time. He has strikes. He has power. Yes, it’s a possibility to get caught and lose. But short of that, short of something getting through and it catches me and puts me away, he gets his ass whooped every single way. He has one way to win this fight. Anybody who thinks he’s going to outclass me is out of their f*cking mind.”
