Green Bay Packers fans were sure put through a lot on Monday afternoon at the start of NFL free agency.

For a few minutes it appeared the Packers were about to have a two-headed monster at running back with Josh Jacobs and Aaron Jones. Watch out, NFL defenses.

Then it didn't happen.

Around 1:15 p.m. it was reported that Jacobs, the former NFL rushing champion from the Las Vegas Raiders, was signing a free agent deal with the Packers, potentially joining forces with the dynamic Jones, who had his best stretch of his career to end the 2023 season. It was all a tease.

Not even an hour later, a report surfaced by the NFL Network that the Packers were releasing Jones, one of the greatest running backs in franchise history who has been called the "heart and soul" of the team by general manager Brian Gutekunst.

Here's a sample of how it all played out on social media in what has turned out to be a wild day across the NFL.
