The consul is not entitled to provide legal advice or act as your advocate/lawyer or legal representative in the court.
If you need legal assistance, you can use the list of lawyers that a consular officer will provide you at your request. You will find there both lawyers who offer free legal assistance and people who are speaking Polish.
Below you will find the list of the lawyers, notaries and translators operating in each province in Canada (please contact a selected lawyer, notary or translator directly for the detailed scope of services they provide).
If you require legal advice, you can also contact an appropriate lawyer through Canada Legal Information Sources or the legal organizations operating in the provinces (contact information below).
Important! The Polish consular offices in Canada are not responsible for the quality of the services provided or other kind of obligations that may arise from the employment of a translator or a law/notary public office. Please note that the fees of the service of lawyers/notaries/translators may vary significantly, therefore we recommend to conduct a careful research before making the final decision on choosing a lawyer/notary/translator.
Please remember that you can use the help of the consul if you need the translation of specific documents. Polish consular offices in Canada provide the official translations and certify translations. More information in the “Translations" and “Certifying conformity of translations” section.
