Deputies: Man shot, killed in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mich. (WOOD) — A 29-year-old man died after he was shot at a trailer park in Springfield, deputies say.

Around 10:50 p.m. Sunday, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was called to Thunderbird Village off of Harmonia Road. When they arrived, deputies found a 29-year-old Springfield man that had been shot.

First responders treated him but eventually, he died of his injury. The man was not identified by the sheriff’s office.

A suspect has been identified, according to deputies, and they say there is no threat to the public. It’s not clear what led up to the shooting but the Calhoun County Detective Bureau is investigating.
