Janesville OIS 3-1

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) identified the officer who is on administrative leave after a deadly shooting in Janesville.

On March 1, officers were called to a home on North Parker Street for a report of someone with a gun. Authorities say 52-year-old Andrew Zigler wouldn't come out of the house and he didn't let two other people leave.

The DOJ says Sgt. Jimmy Holford III shot Zigler. Zigler died at the scene.

No other people were hurt.

Holford is now on leave, which is department policy.

When the DOJ finishes its investigation, its report will go to the Rock County District Attorney.
