Reba McEntire accused of calling Taylor Swift an ‘entitled brat’

She swears there is no bad blood between them.

Reba McEntire denied allegations that she called Taylor Swift an “entitled brat” at the 2024 Super Bowl after the country singer’s performance of the national anthem.

“Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet,” McEntire, 68, wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday. “I did not say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry.”

McEntire’s response comes after a Facebook group called America Loves Liberty claimed that McEntire was “disappointed” with the way the “Bejeweled” singer acted during her performance.

“Reba McIntire [sic] talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing The National Anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event,” read the post, before claiming McEntire replied: “I let her have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat.”

Swift, in actuality, was in high spirits during the game. While McEntire sang, she was spotted standing alongside best friend Blake Lively with her hand over her heart.

Swift was on hand to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who ultimately beat the San Francisco 49ers, 25 to 22.

“Reba McIntire [sic] talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing The National Anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event,” read the America Loves Liberty Facebook post before claiming the “I’m a Survivor” songstress responded, “I let her have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat.”

“It’s so funny how many people just blindly believe a meme,” one Facebook user commented on the allegation. “Especially one that mocks their preconceived notions.”

“They spelled your name McIntire. So made up story AND a lazy proofreader,” a second person cackled on Instagram.

“As soon as I saw this stupid story, I knew it was lies,” a third fan proclaimed, “@reba leads the industry with class, she would never do anything like this. People need to get a life.”

The controversial account America Loves Liberty responded to the comments.

“Oh my. Reba McEntire herself responded to our nonsense,” they wrote in a comment Sunday while bleating that the post had been satire. “Thank you, Ma’am. We love your work. The article is as silly as the headline for a reason.”

“It’s not supposed to be believable,” the comment continued. “Our fans were staunchly on your side long before this post.”

McEntire has always spoken fondly of Swift. Even before the big football match, she joked about the “All Too Well” singer’s relationship in an interview with “Today.”

“Oh, my gosh, I am so mad at her because I had a crush on him,” McEntire joked. “Now I can’t have a crush anymore because he’s dating her.”

Despite the playful tease, McEntire is quite content in her own relationship with longtime beau Rex Linn.
