Flocking Fabulous is a one-stop shop for craft supplies, such as apparel, custom accessories, custom gifts and many more items that can be personalized for fun or business endeavors.

Flocking Fabulous was started about seven years ago out of Kelly Smith’s home where she took up a passion for creating crafts and homemade goods. Smith had a dream of being able to help and teach others. After two years of working from her garage making custom T-shirts, Smith decided to open a brick-and-mortar location in Port Isabel.

Three years ago, Smith moved Flocking Fabulous to Victoria and two years ago moved into the current location on 501 E. North St. Suite 200. Smith said one of the primary goals of Flocking Fabulous is to help people better understand their crafting needs and goals.

“I saw that there was a need for someone to teach, for someone to be there to help others, and that’s our big thing. We really want all of our customers to come in and feel like they can rely on us and that we will help them, teach them, and give them the knowledge and the power they need to be successful at making or selling crafts,” smith said.

Flocking Fabulous offers almost anything that has to do with crafts. The store has heat-transfer vinyl and adhesive vinyl with over over 300 colors, patterns and finishes. The store also has a large array of blanks, which are key chains, air fresheners, journals, Koozies, bags, aprons, cases, earrings, patches, neckties, umbrellas and much more, which can be custom designed.

Additionally, Flocking Fabulous has a wide arrange of apparel that can be customized with different designs and pictures. Smith said she and the staff work hard all day to fulfill orders from businesses and residents.

“We get orders in from other businesses, and then from the local peeps,” Smith said. “People will call and say, ‘Hey, I need 30 shirts. Can you print these out? They’ll go get the vinyl they choose. We’ll get them in the press and then they’re good to go.”

Smith said Flocking Fabulous has been blessed to be a part of the community, and that there is always work to be done.

“The community has really blessed us, and they seem to have fun. It’s all about the experience when they come in here. We want it to be fun, creative and just teaching all the time,” Smith said. “So when they come in they’ll ask us, what would I do about this and why should I price this and we kind of help guide them and help them understand. You know. It’s all about knowing your worth and teaching and helping, and that’s what we do.”

Smith said educating customers to be able to take their crafting to another level and use it as a way to bring in their own revenue is one of the missions of Flocking Fabulous.

“We are really here to help anyone who wants to learn to be creative or to have a side hustle,” Smith said. “We’re here to help anyone from one print to 5,000 prints it doesn’t matter to us. We’re just here to help. We’re here to teach, and we just love our customers.”

Smith’s dream is to be able to quadruple the size and scope of Flocking Fabulous by next year and be able to have indoor shows where people can showcase their craftwork. Smith and the team at Flocking Fabulous are on track to meet this goal as they have started looking at new properties that could house the massive amount of creativity at Flocking Fabulous.
