A woman pulling out of a driveway was killed days after Thanksgiving when an SUV hit her van "with such force that it caused the van to go into a spin and then overturn," investigators said.

Now, months later, the driver of that SUV is charged with crimes including DUI, and it turns out he has never held a valid driver's license.

Authorities outside Philadelphia said Shaikan Pitts had been “driving at 69 mph at the time of the crash, and he took no evasive action or braking prior to the crash.”

That road had a posted speed limit of just 40 mph.

The victim, 33-year-old Laishah “Nala” Holloman, was “trapped under her white Ford van,” and pronounced dead at the scene.

Toxicology testing found Pitts’ blood alcohol level was 0.135%. It also found the presence of cannabinoids.

Pitts, 38, faces charges including homicide by vehicle–DUI, DUI, accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed, reckless driving, and driving without a license.

He was arrested Tuesday, his bail was set at $90,000 cash, and a judge refused to lower that amount during a bail review hearing on Wednesday.
