A shocking dashcam clip has shown the horror moment when a driver dangerously overtook a car on a busy Fife road narrowly missing another vehicle.

The brazen motorist is seen causing chaos as they attempted to overtake a van on Cuddyhouse Road, Dunfermline on Tuesday afternoon, March 26.

In an attempt to pass a grey van driving on the road in front, the reckless driver pulled out and narrowly avoided colliding with two oncoming vehicles. The first white car was forced to mount the grass verge to escape being hit. The second car then slammed on the brakes as they faced what had just happened.

The selfish driver responsible continues to drive behind the van and does not acknowledge the chaos caused.

The video was posted to Fife Jammer Locations Facebook page yesterday and locals were quick to slam the driver's behaviour.

One woman said: "The only reason that didn’t end in a bad head-on was all down to the fast reactions of the white car! Footage should be handed to police, no excuse in the world to justify how reckless that driver was."

Another added: "Well done the drivers on the other side - they avoided what would have been a really serious accident. No words for the other driver."

A man agreed, saying: "Absolute horrendous place to try and overtake, and absolute tool, failing to stop. Credit to the white car for managing to avoid it!"

Police Scotland said the incident has not yet been reported.
