Northern lights could be visible in New Hampshire Sunday night
Granite Staters could have the chance to see the northern lights Sunday night.
The National Weather Service in Burlington, Vermont said there is a chance to see the aurora Sunday night and Monday night.
Intense aurorae are triggered by a coronal mass ejection, or CME, from the sun, an outburst of charged material that can spark geomagnetic storms when they hit the earth's magnetic field. The charged particles release light when they hit the atmosphere, and the color of the light depends on which gas particles they collide with.

In general, the best time to look for the aurora borealis is between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. It is best to also get away from city lights.
Skies in New Hampshire will be clear Sunday night.
