Anyone who has been to Crufts will know it’s the ultimate place to bag a bargain for your pooch, and while this year’s event may be over - it’s not to say you can’t still scoop some epic online deals.

Forthglade - which can be found in Sainsbury’s stores and online - has launched a little-known discount code that will get shoppers money off their first order. Owners who tap in ‘PC20NC’ at the checkout will be able to bag 20 per cent off food and treats - and there’s one pack in particular that dog lovers have been raving about.

The Devon-based brand’s Natural Soft Bite Treats With Salmon is their highest-rated offering - their ‘Best in Show’ if you will - and has a near-perfect 4.8 star rating from shoppers, based on more than 200 reviews.

Ideal for teaching your dog new tricks, rewarding them on walks, or on occasion, just because they’re cute, the grain free salmon treats are said to be ‘perfect for even the most sensitive of tummies’ , with pet owners loving the fact they come in an endearing heart shape.

Not only that, but the combination of their soft consistency and scored heart shape makes them easier to break in two, ideal for those who might struggle with strength in their hands like older owners, but also means that the treats last longer, too - especially if you’ve got a smaller dog.

All of the treats are also suitable from two months of age , meaning you can get started with ‘sit, stay and paw’ from the day you bring your bundle of fur home.

“My dogs' favourite treats , they adore the soft bites!” said one shopper. “Always great to have in your pocket for when out on a walk and if you don't want them to have a whole one you can break them in half. We love our Forthglade treats!”

Another added: “One of Luna's very favourite things; we've even had to put some behind the counter at her favourite shop so her friends on the staff can treat her when she visits.”

While a third penned: “Easily broken to use as training treats. I think they must taste great because he never refuses.

One said they were fabulous for her older dog who struggles to chew kibble in their golden years, commenting: “Would highly recommend I have an elderly dog who has to have moist food so these are excellent, I also have a two year old who will do anything for a treat.”

The treats usually cost £1.99 for a 90g pouch , with the discount taking them down to £1.59 - but the best way to save money is to opt for one of the bulk-buy options and snap up eight packs for £11.15 with the discount.

However, some owners are hoping Forthglade will soon release larger sized packs of these biscuits, adding: “My dog loves these and they are definitely a high value treat. It's great that you can break them up easily into smaller pieces to make them last longer, but I wish they came in bigger bags. You can buy multiple packs for a discount, but bigger bags would save on packaging!”

Another popular brand, Pooch and Mutt , are also holding a discount on their site, too, where owners can get 12 per cent off with the code MARCH12. And included in the offer is their newly-launched Easter meaty treats, which were so popular last year that they sold out. Meanwhile at Amazon, those looking to stock up can pick up four packs of the Denzel’s rewards for £12 in a variety of flavours.

You can shop the popular Forthglade salmon treats - alongside a range of other meals and supplements - here on their website. Don’t forget to use the code ‘PC20NC’ at the checkout to scoop the deal.
