Now open: Earthworks Ceramic Studios in Nursery Road, Brixton

A new  creative ceramic studio has opened in  Nursery Road, Brixton, offering classes from £65 upwards plus open access membership.

They told Brixton Buzz:

The dedicated team of enthusiastic teachers will enrich and inspire you through your ceramic journey.

 

Their class sizes allow for plenty of 121 learning, and their bespoke curriculum allows for students to explore what they are interested in and develop an individual relationship with the craft.

Founders Juliet and Joshua commented:

 ‘Our mission is to inspire, educate, and empower individuals to express themselves through ceramics.

 

We envision a dynamic and vibrant community of makers and artists who come together to learn, share, and develop their ceramic artistry in a collaborative environment.’

To celebrate the launch of the studio, Earthworks are offering 20% off their six-week courses using the codes ‘20%OFFThrow’ for throw courses and ‘20%OFFHand’ for hand course between 22nd March – 5th April.

Memberships

The studio is also offering open access memberships, with a maximum of 10 memberships currently available.

These come in at a monthly rolling fee of £200 per month or 3 months paid in advance £185 per month. Free use of house clay, bisque and glaze 1260c is included within reason.

Background

Earthworks was born out of a desire for more artist–run creative spaces that facilitate ceramics in Southwest London.

The Founders of Earthworks met during their studies at the Royal College of Art, and aims to provide the safe space, technical support and shared equipment needed to offer recent graduates, local artists and emerging potters a home in Brixton.
