Denver weather: Tuesday stays cool, but a warmup is coming

DENVER (KDVR) — Temperatures on Tuesday will remain cool after a system passed through the state from Sunday into Monday. Temperatures will start in the teens and make their way into the 40s in the Denver weather forecast.

There could be some more snowfall in the high country on Tuesday, but accumulations will be light and travel should not be a concern.

A few of the snow and rain showers could hop off the higher terrain and push into the metro area and the Front Range later in the day.

Weather today: Chilly with an isolated rain, snow shower

Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies dominate the area through the early afternoon hours as high temperatures top out in the upper 40s.

There is a small chance of isolated rain and snow showers in the afternoon, but most of the state will remain dry. Winds willcome out of the northeast anywhere from 5-10 mph.

Following the isolated rain and snow showers in the early evening, the Pinpoint Weather team is forecasting drier conditions by Tuesday night.

Mostly cloudy skies will move into the picture as lows drop into the middle to lower 20s. Winds will be out of the northeast anywhere from 5-10 mph.

Looking ahead: Warming up this weekend

The drying and warming trend starts on Wednesday and continues into the weekend.

Denver will be a little below average on Wednesday with highs in the 50s under mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will then jump into the 60s quickly to wrap up the workweek and could even climb into the 70s by Saturday.

Denver’s next chance for rain showers will arrive on Monday with an incoming cold front.

There is a possibility that some of those April 1 showers could mix with snow Monday night. The Pinpoint Weather team will be watching for that possibility in the coming days.
