SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Film Festival (SAFILM) is celebrating its 30th year with a VIP movie screening and fundraiser.
SAFILM will host the event at 6 p.m. on April 4 at the Radius Center, featuring the reveal of the festival’s 30th Anniversary Poster, a raffle, and a cash bar. Tickets are available at the door and are donation-only.
The event will also feature the screening of Jesse Trevino - The Artist. The Man, a film that takes a look at San Antonio’s best-known artist.
The film, made by journalist Randy Beamer, takes a close look at Jesse Trevino’s life and work, from losing his painting hand in Vietnam to becoming a San Antonio icon, complete with Jesse himself, his collections, and never-before-seen footage.
“30 years goes by in a flash,” remarks Adam Rocha, founder of SAFILM “Come on down and help us kick off the next 30 years of independent cinema in San Antonio! Viva Fiesta!”
Founded in 1994, SAFILM showcases over 200 films every year from all over the world, from big Hollywood productions to small-scale independent works during their six-day festival.
This year's festival will take place from July 30 to Aug. 4.
