SAN ANTONIO - Two suspects have been arrested Thursday in connection with the robbery of an armored truck on Wednesday.
San Antonio Police charged DeAndre Nelson, 28, and Melvin Charles Hill Jr, 33, with Aggravated Robbery.
The robbery took place just before 10 a.m. at a Wells Fargo off Austin Highway on the Northeast Side.
Police said the Brinks armored truck was making its rounds when the security personnel were held at gunpoint by the two suspects, who robbed the truck of several cash-filled cartridges before taking off.
Detectives and agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) identified the suspects and the vehicle they were driving at the time of the robbery. They were able to track them down and take them into custody.
San Antonio Police removed the fact that one of the suspects bragged on social media that "he was going to the casino to spend a lot of money."
Nelson is being held at the Bexar County Jail on a $75,000 bond. Hill Jr is being held on a $150,000 bond,
