Here are Thursday's high school boys basketball sectional semifinal results for the Appleton and Green Bay area

BOYS BASKETBALL

Division 1

Neenah 68, Stevens Point 50

APPLETON - The Rockets trailed by seven points early in the second half then stormed back to beat the Panthers in the sectional semifinal.

Neenah will play Marshfield in the sectional championship game at 3 p.m. Saturday in Stevens Point. Marshfield advanced with a 71-68 victory over Kaukauna.

Neenah improves to 20-7 and has won 12 games in a row and 16 of its last 17. SPASH finishes the season with a 23-4 record.

SPASH led 30-23 with 16:05 remaining in the second half, but Neenah responded with a quick 7-0 run. Justin Janssen drilled a 3-pointer, Brady Corso hit a short jumper and then Corso got a steal and a layup to tie the game at 30-30 with 14:10 remaining.

That Rockets rode that momentum and outscored the Panthers 38-20 the rest of the game.

“We knew what we had to to. We weren’t really executing,” Neenah’s Luke Jung said. “Coaches said keep doing what we do and we brought it together.”

Jung led Neenah with 23 points, including 16 in the second half. Corso added 19 points and Charlie Wunderlich scored 14.

SPASH was led by Grant Chandonais with 14 points.

Neenah avenged a loss to the Panthers in the first game of the season, when SPASH beat the Rockets, 55-47.

Neenah gets another rematch on Saturday against Marshfield. The Rockets beat the Tigers, 58-31, on Dec. 16.

“We’re pretty confident. We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, though,” Jung said. “Stay humble and keep going.”

WAUPACA - The Tigers made 16-of-33 3-point attempts compared to 11-of-23 for the Ghosts to advance to the sectional final.

Keegan Van Kauwenberg led Kaukauna with 24 points. Andrew Jensen scored 17 points, while Nathan Deprez and Jon O’Neill added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for Kaukauna.

Marshfield was led by Landon Lee with 26 points. Chris Pohl scored 17 points. Brooks Hinson and Valin Ramberg both added 12.

Kaukauna finishes its season with a 19-8 record.

Marshfield is now 25-2.

SHEBOYGAN - The Redbirds survived an errant pass in the final seconds of the second overtime when the Highlanders missed a wide open layup on the turnover, moving De Pere (26-1) on to Saturday’s sectional final at Oshkosh North against Hartland Arrowhead (25-2).

Zach Kinziger led De Pere with 27 points, including seven in the two overtime periods. Will Hornseth added 15 for the Redbirds.

Homestead was led by Tim Franks with 21 points. Trevor Polite added 13.

Homestead finishes with a 20-7 record.

MANITOWOC - The Jaguars opened the second half with a 14-6 run to take a 19-point lead over the Panthers en route to the sectional semifinal win.

Ashwaubenon, which is now 23-4, will face top-seeded Nicolet at 1 p.m. Saturday at Whitefish Bay High School.

Jayden Schoen made six 3-pointers and led Ashwaubenon with 24 points. Drew Tomashek added 18 points and Jackson Sims scored 11. Tomashek went over 1,000 points for his career in the victory.

Plymouth ends its season with a 21-6 record.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - The Foxes’ run through the playoffs came to an end with the loss to the Panthers.

West Salem, which is now 24-3, will play River Falls at 1 p.m. Saturday in Neillsville.

Fox Valley Lutheran finishes its season with a 24-3 record.

Division 3

Freedom 80, Southern Door 50

GREEN BAY - The Irish hit 11 3-pointers in the first half to race out to a 19-point halftime lead and advance to Saturday’s sectional final with the comfortable win over the Eagles.

Drew Kortz led Freedom with 21 points. Matthew Eberhardt and Donovan Davis added 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Freedom is now 23-4 and will play Kiel in the sectional title game at 1 p.m. Saturday in Chilton.

Drew Daoust led Southern Door with 20 points. Matthew Malvitz added 12.

Southern Door finishes with a 22-5 record.

Bonduel 76, Oconto 59

GREEN BAY - The Bears went on a 16-7 run over the final six minutes to pull away from the Blue Devils and advance to the sectional final.

Oconto, which trailed by eight points at halftime, pulled within six points on a number of occasions in the second half.

Bonduel, which is now 26-1, will play Marathon at D.C. Everest at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Ryan Westrich led Bonduel with 29 points. Race Anvelink added 22.

Oconto, which finishes its season with an 18-10 record, was led by Carter Koch’s 16 points. Jackson Martin added 15 points, while Cooper Campshure scored 12.
