Miami tourists’ cheers turn to terrified screams in harrowing speed boat crash: video

Harrowing new video shows the moment passengers on a Miami tour boat go from blissfully cheering to terrified screams during a crash that left 13 people injured.

The video, uploaded by the Mausner Graham Injury Law firm, opens with a New York tourist taking a video for Instagram of her and other passengers aboard a Thriller Miami Speedboat Adventures ride on Feb. 11.

As the tourists cheer aboard the hair bowing adventure in Miami’ Fisherman’s Channel, another boat is seen coming up from behind, with the ship slowly turning until it is aimed squarely at the side of the Thriller speedboat.

The tourists only had a matter of seconds to react, with their screams heard just as the boat slams into the Thriller, sending the woman’s phone flying as the video cuts off.

Thirteen people aboard the tourist boat were injured in the collision, with one person airlifted to the hospital after more than 30 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units were deployed at the scene.

“Our hearts go out to the victims of this terrible and frightening incident. This kind of boat collision should not happen. We intend to hold both vessels responsible,” Mausner Graham Injury Law said in a statement. The firm is representing four of the people injured in the crash.

No one aboard the second ship, identified at the Obelix, was injured, NBC 6 reported.

The Coast Guard said the Obelix was allegedly operating as an illegal charter boat and has been ordered to stay off the waters because it’s under investigation.

The Obelix is operated by Midnight Sun Boat Charters, who did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Thriller Miami Speedboat Adventures touts that its ships can reach up to 40 mph as it seeks to deliver the “ultimate sightseeing experience” along the Miami coast, according to the company’s website.
