The county athletes showed up in a big way Tuesday at the Carthage College Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center, located on the top floor of the same building that hosts Firebird basketball.
With temperatures dipping into the 30s Tuesday night in Kenosha and a strong wind coming off Lake Michigan, the indoor track and field venue provided the perfect first opportunity for all eight Kenosha County high school squads to battle each other early in the season.
Indian Trail flexed its muscles for both the boys and girls and showed who currently runs the county.
The Hawks dominated as a team, winning both the boys and girls events by wide margins. The Indian Trail girls scored 263 points, well ahead of runner-up Tremper (70) and third-place Shoreland Lutheran (68).
Also, the Hawk boys tallied 195.5 points, ahead of Shoreland’s 113 and Bradford’s 108.
