1 worker dead, another seriously injured in Lombard crash

LOMBARD, Ill. — A worker died and another was seriously injured following a crash with a semi-truck Saturday night in Lombard.

Authorities responded to the area of Route 53 and North Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. on the report of a serious crash.

They located a semi-truck and a bucket truck, with two workers inside, involved in a collision.

Both were transported in serious condition. One of the workers died at the hospital.

Police did not say if the semi-truck driver was injured.

Lombard police told WGN News no further information is available when asked for additional details.
