Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving benefits Maynard Children’s Hospital

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -Jersey Mike’s was the place to be Wednesday to get something great to eat while supporting Maynard’s Children’s Hospital in Greenville at the same time.

Seventeen locations in the east took part in the annual Day of Giving.

That means 100 percent of the day’s sales go to help sick and injured children at Maynard Children’s Hospital.

Funds raised help to purchase items such as lifesaving equipment, support the Child Life program, all the way to diversionary items like video games and crafts

Last year the event raised $141,000 locally bringing total giving since 2009 to more than $700,000.

We’ll find out how much this year’s event raised during the CMN Telethon on WITN this June 1st and 2nd.
