Britney Spears' ex-husband Sam Asghari gives the real reason for his divorce from popstar

Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Britney Spears after 14 months of marriage and he's now opened up about the heartbreaking real reason for their split.

The former couple started dating in 2017 and were madly in love, with Sam popping the question in 2021. Britney and Sam then married on June 9, 2022, in a lavish ceremony at the singer's California home.

Sadly, things weren't to be and he filed for divorce in August 2023. Now, Sam has revealed they decided to separate after simply "growing apart". He had nothing but kind words to say about his ex-wife as he explained: "It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on."

Speaking to People magazine, Sam said he will never say anything bad about his relationship with Britney. He explained: "I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other.

"That's something I'm never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that's always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life." Sam filed for divorce from Britney citing "irreconcilable differences".

After the news went public, the Toxic hitmaker released a statement on Instagram. "As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together," she said. "6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I'm a little shocked but … I'm not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!! But, I couldn't take the pain anymore honestly !!!"

Britney thanked fans for their support and added: "I've been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that. I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but some reason I've always had to hide my weaknesses !!!

"If I wasn’t my dad’s strong soldier, I would be sent away to places to get fixed by doctors !!! But that's when I needed family the most !!! You're supposed to be loved unconditionally … not under conditions !!!! So I will be as strong as I can and do my best !!! And I'm actually doing pretty damn good !!!"

Since then, it's been reported she's moved on with her former housekeeper Paul Richard Soliz. Britney and Paul allegedly spend quite a few nights every week together. A source told Us Weekly: "She doesn’t like it when he leaves. [Britney] feels as though she deserves more attention, but he has to be there for his kids."
