Open 24/7, this national emergency number is free and accessible everywhere in France to call in sign language but also in French the Samu (15), the police and gendarmerie (17) and the fire brigade (18).

Deaf and hard of hearing people can reach 114 from a computer by going to www.urgence114.fr but also from a smartphone with the app

Emergency 114

downloadable from Apple and Google play.

The smartphone app and website pre-register the person's contact information to save time.

As soon as information on emergency treatment is collected (location, circumstances, identity of the person, etc.), 114 establishes the direct link with the local emergency service concerned, which will intervene, if necessary, as soon as possible.
