SeaWorld San Diego unveils 60th anniversary merchandise

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — SeaWorld San Diego turns 60 this year and to celebrate the giant milestone, the theme park is offering new experiences for guests to enjoy later this month.

SeaWorld San Diego is kicking off the celebrations with a launch party from March 21 to 24. Guests can view a cake cutting ceremony each morning at 10 a.m. and receive a free cupcake (while supplies last).

Other celebratory highlights include:

• Special limited-edition food & beverage options, including the return of the beloved Shamu cookie, a blue velvet cake, a 60^th Anniversary Burger, 60^th Anniversary Donut, specialty cocktails and mocktails, and a special 60^th Anniversary IPA from Mike Hess Brewing

• New and exclusive vintage merchandise (see photo gallery below)

• A custom Precious Moments collectible highlighting a memorable moment at SeaWorld titled “Sea a World of Wonder.” Precious Moments sculptor Hiko Maeda will be at the park to sign purchased figurines and meet fans on March 21 – 24

• Costumed characters – Shamu, Coral the Dolphin, Sydney the Shark, Shivers the Polar Bear, Puck the Penguin and Flip the Sea Lion – and a commemorative photo opportunity for all ages

Later this year, the park will introduce the new exhibit, “Jewels of the Sea: The Jellyfish Experience.” According to SeaWorld San Diego, it has three galleries featuring species of jellyfish ranging from moon jellyfish, Pacific sea nettles, upside-down jellyfish and comb jellies.
