Jewelry store windows smashed, suspect wanted

MUNCY CREEK TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— State police say they are searching for the person who smashed the front windows of a jewelry store and stole several items in Lycoming County.

On March 22 between 6:03 a.m. and 6:34 a.m., investigators say a man broke the two front windows and glass door to J.L. Winters Jewelers. Troopers say the thief reached through the window and stole several unknown items from the store.

After breaking into the jewelry store, authorities said the man fled the scene and attempted to enter a nearby resident’s garage by breaking the window and unlocking the door. PSP said nothing was stolen from the resident’s garage.

The man was described as wearing a dark jacket with a hood, blue jeans, and black boots that were tan in the upper portion of the boots.

PSP Montoursville says they are currently investigating this incident.
