Chelsea Clinton believes President Joe Biden isn’t getting the credit he deserves when it comes to his accomplishments in the White House.

On this morning’s episode of The View, Alyssa Farah Griffin asked the author — who grew up steeped in politics as the daughter of Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton — what she thinks Biden needs to do to beat Republican frontrunner Donald Trump in the key battleground states where he’s currently leading in the polls.

“The president certainly doesn’t get the credit he deserves for where our economy is,” Chelsea said. “We have the lowest unemployment in more than 50 years — even from when my dad was in office, who is generally recognized as a very good steward of our economy.”

She added that real wages have been up since Biden came into office, inequality has gone down, he’s forgiven more than $130 billion in student loan debt and he promised to protect a woman’s right to make her own choices when it comes to her body.

“I think the president made his case so forcefully in the State of the Union and now I think incumbent on those of us who support him — like me — to do all we can to help people in battleground states, but really everywhere, to know what the stakes are in this election,” Chelsea said.

She continued, “But also to really recognize his record of achievement for America and Americans and what he will do when he is hopefully elected for a second term.”

Biden isn’t the only one who has Chelsea’s support. In fact, she came to Barron Trump’s defense after former NBC senior executive Mike Sington claimed he was “fair game” now that he’s 18 years old.

Chelsea, who faced brutal criticism as a teenager in the White House, told The View, “I think he’s a private citizen. I feel so strongly that if you are a private citizen, you have an unimpeachable right to privacy. And I think the media should leave him alone.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
