Officials identify human remains as missing Iowa man

HUMAN REMAINS FOUND NEAR THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER IN BURLINGTON HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A MAN WHO WAS REPORTED MISSING BACK IN 2020. THOSE REMAINS WERE FOUND NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH MAIN AND LOCUST STREETS LAST WEEK. THE STATE’S MEDICAL EXAMINER HAS IDENTIFIED THEM AS 54 YEAR OLD TROY DOUGHERTY OF BURLINGTON. Authorities in Iowa say human remains that were discovered last week belong to a Burlington man who went missing in July 2020.Remains were found on Thursday, March 7, in Burlington. Officials identified the remains as Troy Daugherty, 54, of Burlington.Daugherty was reported missing on July 14, 2020, according to the Iowa Department of Public Safety.Authorities have not released a cause of death. Authorities in Iowa say human remains that were discovered last week belong to a Burlington man who went missing in July 2020.

Remains were found on Thursday, March 7, in Burlington. Officials identified the remains as Troy Daugherty, 54, of Burlington.

Daugherty was reported missing on July 14, 2020, according to the Iowa Department of Public Safety.

Authorities have not released a cause of death. The investigation is still ongoing.
